The word Phinda means
“the Return.”
Visiting the Phinda Lodge in Kwazulu-Natal feels like returning home. Home to yourself. Home to your ancestral land. Home to the place where humanity first began.
When you arrive, the first thing you’ll notice is the incredible tranquility. No honking horns. No buzzing and beeping. There’s a type of “quiet” that’s unlike anywhere else on earth.
There’s magic and power, too—a vibration in the ground that you can feel the moment you arrive. It’s a feeling that’s difficult to express in words. People come to Phinda and they leave transformed.
The Phinda Lodge is an award-winning boutique hotel and wildlife preserve. The property has received prestigious awards for conversation, sustainability, and ethical business practices. You’ll experience an exceptionally high level of care and thoughtfulness expressed in every detail of your stay.
Arrive... Exhale...
1:00 - 2:30 pm | Driver brings you to the lodge. Check into your suite. Unpack, exhale, and relax. Enjoy a leisurely lunch. Oh, what’s that passing by the deck? It’s an elephant. No big deal.
3:00 pm | Tea time. Meet your retreat leaders and the other guests. Screaming with joy is completely encouraged.
4:00 pm | Game drive to see animals at dusk. Hop off the Jeep. Sip a cocktail underneath a Baobab tree and watch the sunset. Yes. This is your actual life.
7:00 pm | Relax by a crackling campfire followed by dinner and conversation. Wash off the sweat and excitement of the day before slipping into your bed. Sweet dreams.
